COME RIDE WITH US!!!!!

Michigan Rocky Mountain Horse Club Events
Howdy Fellow Trail Riders:
Before we know it, July will be here, and with it comes our campout at Bob and Brenda Ricksger's place.  The campout is July 17-19, 2009!  Bob and Brenda live in Alden which is north of Kalkaska.  I'm sure Ricksgers will be sending out directions as we get closer to the date. They have a nice, private camping area on their property with plenty of trees to high-line to. This year, we will be joined by some of the folks from WHAM.  Ricksgers would like to know how many people to plan on so please reply back if you are planning on camping.  Bob and Brenda are awesome hosts and we had such a wonderful time with them last year that we can't wait to go back.  Keep checking back for more details as they beome available!

hope to see you there!

The Michigan Rocky Mountain Club enjoyed participating in the Judged Trail Ride at Silver Creek Park 2009,

"This was my first Judged Trail ride, not knowing what to expect I went into it with the attitude that it was a good training experience, we had a lot of fun as always when riding with my Rocky friends. Traveler is really coming into himself and turning into an awesome trail horse."

"I was amazed at how quiet Lee's  young horse was and he is only green broke!  Cheryl had fun tackling all the obstacles and of course Sarah had to show us all how to do it on her trusted mount Red Neck, and she didn't even practice.

There was a gigantic ball that came up from behind that tarp, there were ten obstacles over a seven mile course with various challenges.  We saw a lot of flowering dogwood, wildflowers, flowering groundcovers and blooming lady slippers on our rides throughout the weekend. I especially enjoyed the dogwood, it is not native to the nothern part of Michigan where I live. It was a lot of fun!  Heide"
